I am usually asked to field in the gully but I have heard different ideas on what to watch. Some say watch the edge of the bat while others suggest you should watch the ball from the bowlers hand. Any thoughts?

Right guys, batting seems to be quite good this year round, I have an avearage of 50. But the problem is, I just cant seem to any power in to my shots. My question is, what hand should do the hitting and at what point should I accelerate the bat through the line?

Hey guys
I've asked a lot of people about where i should be looking when im running up
some people say look at the spot where you want to bowl, others say imagine a 4th stump and look at that and i've also heard that try to stare the batsmen in the eyes

what do you guys suggest?

Hi everybody,
I'd like to know how much practice is required to become a good cricketer. And how much to become a cricketing great, i.e., hours a day/week etc. I am 14 years old, so I'd like to also know the limit for training.
Been a while since i last posted ,and i have been playing cricket to a much higher level these days . I am now being noticed by Hampshire scouts and recently went to a trial but did not make the team , they seemed to like my bowling but my batting let me down. My problem is that i have good pace ,but the top hampshire batsmen at my age can still block me out. To get into the Hampshire team i need to work on my batting ,but more on the speed of my bowling. I have a strong upper body but my lower body is not as strong, so i am losing alot of pace and not generating that maxium speed.
Does anyone know and drills i can do that work the most important muscels used in the body in bowling e.g building my lower back muscels.
Thanks.

Ian - if you ever need any help with phpbb2, drop me a PM. I have been running my own forum that ran on phpbb2 since last two years.

Ian wrote:

Hopefully the spam issue should be sorted now, all users now have to answer a pre-registration question, which will keep the spam bots out, and new accounts will be manually activated by myself (so if there profiles look like spammers they won't get activated).

Apologies for the delay in getting this sorted! I had installed an anti-spam fix but it clearly didn't do the job I thought it would.

Thanks for you patience,

Make sure you knock it in properly with a mallet. Do not get impatient while knocking in. Do it properly and don't use the bat until you are sure you have done it properly. You wont regret it.
